AccountMode is developed by Philip Page. Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected].
Information AccountMode handles
Depending on how you use the app, AccountMode may contain:
- account identity information supplied through Sign in with Apple, such as an Apple user identifier, name and email address when Apple makes them available;
- business and financial records, including income, expenses, mileage, car costs, pension contributions, charitable donations, tax years, notes and categories;
- client or payer details, invoice information, payment due and payment received records;
- receipt and document attachment metadata, together with files you choose to attach;
- app settings, sync state, import logs and lightweight audit information;
- technical information you voluntarily include in a support message, such as app version, build and device platform.
Why the information is used
The information is used to provide the app’s record-keeping, calculation, search, backup, export and cross-device features; to maintain account security; and to respond to support requests. Optional permissions such as Contacts, Photos, Camera and biometric authentication are used only for the feature you choose.
Where records are stored
Core AccountMode records are stored on your device using Apple data frameworks and, when enabled and available, synced through the private CloudKit database associated with your iCloud account. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy information.
Receipt images and document file payloads are currently stored locally on the device where they are attached. Attachment metadata may exist in the synced record. This means the attachment file itself may not appear on another device.
Sharing
AccountMode does not sell personal information and does not include advertising. Records are not shared with accountants, HMRC or other third parties automatically. When you create an export or use the Apple share sheet, you choose where that file goes.
Retention and deletion
Records remain available until you edit or delete them, reset app data through an explicitly confirmed action, or remove them through the relevant Apple/iCloud controls. Uninstalling the app may remove local-only files, while records already synced to iCloud may remain in your private iCloud database. Backup files remain wherever you chose to save or share them.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit records in the app, export a portable backup, remove individual records and sign out without automatically deleting local bookkeeping data. Depending on applicable data protection law, you may also have rights to ask about, correct, restrict, object to or erase personal information handled by the developer. Contact the address above to make a request.
Security
AccountMode uses Apple platform protections, private CloudKit storage and optional Face ID or Touch ID app locking. No system can promise absolute security, so regular exports of important records are recommended.
Children
AccountMode is a business record-keeping tool and is not directed at children. A user may store limited client details where lawful and appropriate for their own business; that user remains responsible for how they collect and use those details.
